Piazza Bella.
A nice neighborhood surprise.
Since moving to Roscoe Village Monica and I have made a point to try the various restaurants that fill our neighborhood. On the advice of Ms Cookie Martorano we decided to walk the couple of blocks to Piazza Bella, the Italian restaurant I pass on my way to grab my morning coffee. We were both quite pleased that we did.
I had the Salmon with Asparagus complemented perfectly by a glass of the La Francesca Pinot Grigio (2003). My wife's dish was the Spinach Ravioli with Peppers. Everything was superb with one minor exception, one piece of the Grilled Calamari was a touch underdone.
The service was prompt and courteous and though the space is in fact rather "intimate" at no time did I feel cramped. I recommend if you find yourself on or near the north side of Chicago you check this place out.
